What we need
The Parish Vestry, along with staff and lay leadership, have identified several immediate capital projects.
New heating system in the cloister & sacristies: Warmer sacristies, cloister, and restrooms will prevent pipes from bursting in extreme conditions and will provide greater comfort for chorister parents and those who serve regularly for liturgies. The organ will benefit, too, as a warmer cloister means a warmer organ chamber, which will help to maintain a stable temperature within the organ in cold weather.
Cost: $40,000
HVAC units in the parish house basement: Air conditioning and improved heating will mean that we can utilize this space in the future for coffee hour, fellowship events, and outreach ministry. A likely new tenant is planning renovations at his own expense.
Cost: $15,000
Fire alarm system: We need a legally compliant fire detection system in the church, sacristies, cloister, and choir room. Currently, there is none, which places the entire campus at risk. This project is already being scheduled for the immediate future.
Cost: $20,000
Organ repairs: Our pipe organ, integral to the richness of our Anglo-Catholic worship, is nearly fifty years old and in need of extensive maintenance to remain playable. Damaged pipes need to be revoiced and refurbished, and the organ chambers need to be cleaned and water-damaged plaster restored. This project includes updates to the digital system, programming updates to the console, installation of an organ humidification system, and removal of organ pipes for refurbishing and cleaning.
Cost: $22,000
The total cost of organ maintenance work is over $200,000. We intend to apply for a grant for much of this work.
New roof for the retreat house: The roof is compromised in several locations, especially around the gutters and eaves. Recently, animals have made their way into the ceiling and destroyed wiring. A new roof would prevent further damage and render the property usable for years to come.
Cost: $60,000
total cost: $157,000
our goal: $175,000
already raised: $118,000
Our goal is to raise more money than the total cost of these projects so that we can form
a special capital fund for future work.
Every donation counts, regardless of size.
If we pull together, we can meet this goal by June 3, 2025.
